On Tuesday, Priest Nasir Madni claimed that some had beaten him for filming a YouTube video about the coronavirus. Speaking at a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, the clergyman said he shot a video about coronavirus a couple of days ago.
After that, he said, he received an unknown call from WhatsApp from abroad, and the caller asked him to go to Harian, a city in Gujrat County, for a prayer ceremony.
He said that unidentified armed men abducted him and sent him to Harian, where he was severely beaten. He said: “They stripped me and made my video.” Madney said he was tortured because he made a video about the coronavirus. He said his hijackers took his YouTube password and his mobile device at gunpoint.
He took off his shirt and showed signs of torture on his body to the media. The priest called on Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Commander-in-Chief Kamar Bajwa and Punjab Usman Buzdar, Prime Minister, to ensure his safety and take measures against his tormentors.
