The Apex Punjab government committee decided to close Murree to tourists, supermarkets, including department stores, before 10 p.m. to cope with the growing spread of the coronavirus in the province.
To date, 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported in Punjab, of which seven were reported on Wednesday. Important steps were taken at the Apex Committee meeting, which extended the directives to government agencies, asking them to temporarily release all less important officials from attending the offices.
The Apex Committee meeting also decided to close the Murree Hill station for tourists. However, Pakistan Air Force President Chaudri Zahir Ahmed said his markets would remain open.
