While responding to a question, the Minister of Power Engineering, Ghulam Dastgir Khan, stated that the government has no plans to sell off any department.

The Punjab government on Tuesday rescinded the energy conservation plan proposed to the government of the United States to tackle the energy crisis amid the economic crunch.

Provincial Minister of the province of Punjab in charge of Industries, Commerce, and Investment Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal declared that the federal government’s plan to convert energy is unacceptable and if the government had no other choice other than to announce the measures the government should have sought out consultation with all stakeholders.

He also said that the federal cabinet must put all provinces in confidence before announcing any decision.

He also said that the expectation of the provincial government to comply with such a policy is unjustifiable.

The Minister also suggested that the government should meet with all chambers of commerce in the country before imposing the closing of market hours at 8:30 pm.

As he announced his support to the country’s business community, He said the government must also consider the ratio of unemployment and the overall economic situation and reminded members of the Coalition government that the textile industry and other industries are closing because of financial pressures.

Market traders across the nation have been adamant about the decision of the federal government to close all restaurants and stores until 8:30 pm under the new plan for energy conservation which says it’s impossible to conserve energy with these measures.

In a statement, Markazi Tanzaniaem-e-Tajran Pakistan (MTTP) director Kashif Chaudhry stated that the state government designed the policy without the business community’s trust and unwillingness to follow the plan to conserve energy.

“It is not possible to save energy by such measures,” Kashif Chaudhry said in a statement, warning of a strong opposition should the government attempt to close shops by force.

He complained that despite the strong protests and assurances from the officials, they chose to enforce the “unilateral” decision.

The president suggested that government limit its employees’ use of heaters and air conditioners within offices to conserve energy.

In the meantime, Karachi Electronics Dealers Association President Rizwan Irfan disclosed that the Government of Sindh had consulted with the owners of restaurants and wedding hall owners about the energy-saving plans.

He claimed that everyone present at the meeting had decided that markets and malls should remain open until nine or ten o’clock at night, but that wedding venues and dining establishments might remain open until noon.

“However, despite the Sindh government’s assurance they imposed a unilateral decision,” Irfan complained and demanded that the government take on the cost of their expenditure.

Furthermore, the Saddr Traders Association president, Ilyas Memon, declared that the decision to shut markets before closing them is equivalent to ruining businesses.

“The police and the administration should not harass the businessmen,” He stated and added that the Sindh government shouldn’t issue an FIR as per the guidelines laid out in the consultation meeting.

Similarly, the KP government also resisted the energy conservation plan of the federal government. Plan. Advisor for KP CM on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said the federal government needed to consult with the provincial government regarding the procedure for energy conservation. Saif noted that before approving any plan of this kind, the federal government should have sought the support of all the stakeholders.

The KP government has already implemented numerous measures to reduce energy consumption, including widespread solarisation, lighting with LED bulbs, and many more.

The information adviser stated that the provincial government still needs to decide about implementing the federal government’s policy.

LAHORE, Pakistan: On Thursday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said one man’s decision shook his government and deemed it a travesty.

“One man has an enmity towards PTI, and he decided to shut down the party, and he decided to close the party with Imran Khan,” Khan said without naming the person the person he was referring to.

“I want to remind the nation that his toppled PTI government took the country towards economic progress,” the ex-prime minister told the nation.

“We are afraid that everything will get out of hand if [general] elections are not held soon,” he stated while speaking to his followers and employees via video at the Zaman Park residence in Lahore.

He reiterated his demand for early elections and urged his “establishment” and “judiciary” to fulfill their roles to stop further economic devastation and political instability in the country.

In April of this year, the National Assembly passed an act of no-confidence that led to Imran Khan’s resignation. He also reminded his followers about his party’s win in the by-election despite allegations of manipulation. He also said that his assassination resulted from his party’s victory.

The PTI head said that the party’s government is in two provinces and governs more than 66 percent of the country. It has decided to dissolve the assemblies of Punjab as well as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

The previous premier announced last Thursday that provincial assemblies will be dissolved by the following Friday (tomorrow).

“This is everyone’s battle, but not of those whose money is lying abroad,” Khan stated about the Pakistan Democratic Movement government at the Centre.

“The PTI government has the highest rate of growth in Pakistan’s history as the economy was growing, he said. “The country’s prosperity has increased by 5.7% and 6% between 3 and 4 years.

Khan stated that he has never witnessed the nation slide into dark times in his 70-year living. “Our country is getting stuck in quicksand.”
He claimed he was speaking to Pakistanis who haven’t laundered their wealth abroad rather than those who robbed the country.
Meanwhile, PTI supporters held a demonstration in front of the Governor’s House in Lahore. In the lead-up to Imran Khan’s speech. The party members also protested against the governor.

According to Rana Sanaullah, Elahi is no longer the constitutionally elected Chief Minister of Punjab.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab, no longer holds the position of the provincial chief executive, according to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement on Thursday.

As a result of the ruling coalition in the Centre’s decision to remove Elahi as chief minister, the crisis in Punjab is getting worse.

Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman summoned a session yesterday at 4 pm for a vote of confidence pertaining to Elahi as the CM.

But defying the directives, the speaker — a PTI member — had termed the order against the constitution and adjourned an ongoing session till Friday.

Earlier, Sanaullah threatened that the Punjab government would issue a declaration at 4 pm to remove the chief minister from office, but it did not materialize.

“Constitutionally, Parvez Elahi is no more the Punjab CM. He didn’t seek a vote of confidence yesterday,” the interior minister said.

He said that the government had made all arrangements to deal with any situation if violence or vandalism unfolds today.

The existence of “any political crisis” was disregarded by Sanaullah.

No political crisis exists. Sanaullah, the provincial leader of the PML-N, announced that an assembly session would be convened to elect a new chief minister. He continued by saying that the governor’s orders would be carried out immediately.

“The constitution permits the governor to stop notifying the chief minister. There is no discussion of Article 6 when the governor acts in accordance with the Constitution, according to the minister.

The interior minister responded to PTI’s assertion that the president will dismiss Baligh Ur Rehman by saying that the president must carry out the directives of the prime minister.

“Removing a governor is unrealistic; the president can’t even get rid of the bee on his head,”

On the notification of Elahi’s removal, Sanaullah stated that the governor’s orders  issued today, in his opinion. He also noted that the governor must set a date for the election of the new CM.

When asked who the PML-candidate N’s for new chief minister should be, the interior minister said Hamza Shahbaz is the party’s parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly and should be their candidate. He did, however, add that the PML-N has not considered anyone for the position of the new chief minister.
