Have Patience PML-Q-PTI merger Parvez Elahi

Punjab CM’s confusing comment follows Imran Khan’s proposal to consolidate allied parties prior to provincial elections:

 

Lahore: Have Patience, PML-Q-PTI merger Parvez Elahi with new news, Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi has expressed his thoughts on a possible merger of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and its ally Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tekreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

 

When a reporter asked a question during a talk to the media during the inauguration ceremony of the Khatam Ul Nabiyeen University in Lahore on Sunday, Elahi implied the possibility of a PTI/PML-Q merging could be possible.

 

“You will have to be a bit patient to learn the answer to this issue,” Elahi remarked about whether the province’s chief executive will compete in next year’s federal elections using PTI’s bat emblem or PML-tractor Q’s symbol.

 

The idea of a merger of two parties was discussed to journalists Imran Khan during a discussion with reporters at the Zaman Town residence in Lahore Friday. He appeared relaxed and confident following Parvez Elahi’s victory in the confidence vote.

 

In a press conference this Sunday, Elahi stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif must “fight for his life” to win the confidence vote…

 

Elahi told reporters that the Punjab governor must apologize to Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz for dismissing the Punjab Assembly.

 

“I don’t know if Hamza has returned to Pakistan yet or not, but he will meet Imran Khan tonight.”

 

Imran and Hamza have suggested three names as caretakers to today’s incoming chief minister of the day.

 

Elahi, Commenting on the trust vote he held at the Provincial Assembly, stated that the governor was a member of the PML-N and had instructed Elahi to vote of confidence.

 

“We surprised him by taking the vote of confidence and emerging victorious,” the departing CM stated. “Now, if President Arif Alvi asks Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take the vote of confidence we want, the PML-N will have to fight tooth and nail.”

 

It should be noted that in the context of recent political turmoil within the nation, during an interview with a private television channel, Khan stated: “The PTI has passed the test. The next step is that Shehbaz Sharif will be thoroughly testified.”

 

Concerning the confidence vote given by Elahi, Khan said: “Our numbers were completed. Moonis Elahi worked hard at the end of the day to reach the numbers required by The PML-Q.”

 

In his speech to the media, the outgoing chief minister continued, “There would be such a division in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) that it will not be able to hold its position and collapse.”
