The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Wednesday that it had increased the pension amounts for its former Test cricketers.

The PCB has also announced adding former Test cricketer and chairman Ramiz Raja to its pensioners’ list. He will begin receiving his pension starting in February 2023.

In an announcement, the ex-PCB Chairperson Ramiz Raja said, “It brings me great joy and satisfaction to announce an increase in pensions as well as other modifications of the PCB Players’ Welfare Policy. As a former cricketer in charge of Pakistan cricket, I was expected to protect and safeguard the welfare and interests of all current and former cricketers. I am happy to be able to meet one of my promises and have changed the policy in that we will see an annual increase in pensions.”
